Better late than never they say. So this post is about the 2nd seminar which was held just before I left Finland. So lets look few months back where was I with my research then...
- After the first seminar I started getting an idea of the research problem and how to approach it. So by the time of the second seminar I had my main research questions ready and the aim of the research was becoming more clear to me.
- I've managed to pick the most important aspects for the theory basis for my research and started researching on them. Some of the theory aspects changed while the research went on and some of them I did not research in such detail. For example "The image of Finland" in general level I finally left out at the end as it seemed too broad topic to discuss in this research.
- I had a clear vision about the research methods I was going to use in my research and about the methods of collecting research material. I've decided to implement content analysis on the Visit Finland websites as well on the blogs I was using as my research material. At his point it wasn't really crystal clear to me HOW I was actually going to implement the content analysis but luckily after reading theory about the subject I managed to figure out the best way to carry it out.
- I also started to think about the possible and anticipated outcomes of my research and got some feedback on that as well.
- Some of the points I made about the criteria for the blogs I was going to use in my research were:
- Social media coverage
- Amount of followers
- Appreciation of the blog in the UK
- Professionalism
